Industrial Electric Mfg. is establishing an advanced manufacturing facility in San Antonio as part of a $200 million capital investment that will create up to 3,000 new jobs, according to an announcement by Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
The Texas Enterprise Fund has extended a $3.36 million grant to the company for 448 of the positions to be created. The facility will be located at Brooks City Base, the site of the former Brooks Air Force Base in southeast San Antonio.
IEM manufactures power distribution systems, remote power panels, switchgear and switchboards for industries including healthcare and energy. The expansion will add new machinery and equipment to increase the company's North American manufacturing capacity.
"The city's skilled workforce, strong infrastructure, and collaborative economic development environment made this a natural choice for our next phase of growth," said IEM CEO Clayton Such.
