The U.S. General Services Administration has uncovered more than $13 billion in suspected fraud by federal contractors since March 2026, according to an announcement by GSA Administrator Edward C. Forst.
The agency said the discovery represents the largest suspected fraud bust in its history by both the number of contractors involved and the total dollar amount. GSA identified the suspected fraud using government-wide contracting data, public reporting and inspector general enforcement information.
Led by the Office of Government-wide Policy, GSA is conducting a review of COVID-19 spending, 8(a) program integrity, contractor eligibility, bid rigging, cybersecurity false claims, bribery and other contractor-integrity risks. Suspected fraudsters are being referred to the Office of the Inspector General or the Department of Justice for investigation.
