CHICAGO— Today, Mayor Brandon Johnson joined Lawndale Christian Health Center, Alderwoman Monique Scott, Department of Planning and Development Commissioner Ciere Boatright, and community partners to cut the ribbon on LCHC’s new Family and Senior Health Center at 3814 W.
Ogden Ave. in North Lawndale.
The $18 million facility expands LCHC’s Ogden Medical Corridor and will increase access to health care services for residents of North Lawndale and across Chicago’s West Side.
“For more than four decades, Lawndale Christian Health Center has been a trusted anchor in North Lawndale, providing care that is rooted in the community and responsive to the needs of the families it serves,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson. “This new center represents the kind of investment our communities deserve, one that expands access to essential health care, creates jobs and strengthens a neighborhood institution that has served generations of West Side residents.

The approximately $24.5 million, 35,000-square-foot facility includes a family medicine residency clinic, senior health clinic and optometry clinic.
The three clinics include a combined 35 exam rooms, along with lecture and education spaces that will support patient care and medical training.

The new center has the capacity to serve approximately 11,000 patients annually through primary care, senior health and optometry services.
The facility is also expected to support more than 100 full-time equivalent positions, further strengthening LCHC’s role as a major health care provider and employer on Chicago’s West Side.
City support for the project includes $11 million in New Markets Tax Credit financing through the Chicago Development Fund, a nonprofit organization that administers NMTC investments on behalf of DPD.
The federal NMTC program supports investments that create jobs, expand services and generate economic development in historically underserved communities.
