It is a time to remember those we’ve lost, the courage of those who responded that day and those who served the nation in the years that followed.

In addition to National Cemetery Administration events taking place nationwide Saturday, Sept. 12, organizations across the country are hosting remembrance ceremonies and volunteer events.

VA’s National Day of Service and Remembrance will take place at 144 participating cemeteries on Sept. 12, 2026.
