Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported five gang members last week, according to the Department of Homeland Security. The deportees had convictions including attempted murder, driving under the influence, burglary, and homicide, the department said.
Among those deported were Eddy Ely Lopez, removed August 12, a Surenos gang member from Mexico with convictions for attempted murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, criminal street gang activity, and drug possession in prison. Marco Obdulio Sarmiento Crispin was deported August 12, an MS-13 gang member from Guatemala with arrests for homicide, drug possession, and vehicle theft.
Candelario Gomez-Vasquez, a Paisas gang member from Mexico, was deported August 16 with convictions for driving under the influence, robbery, resisting an officer, and illegal re-entry, plus arrests for cocaine possession and burglary.
Julian Patino Espinoza, a Crips gang member from Mexico, was removed August 10 with convictions for burglary, larceny, and illegal re-entry, and arrests for driving under the influence, drug possession, and possession of burglary tools. Cristian Adonay Melgar-Cermeno, a Latin Kings gang member from Guatemala, was deported August 13 with convictions for driving under the influence, burglary, and obstructing police.
