Frontier Airlines returned to Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport on August 20 with the start of nonstop service to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. The airline had previously operated at Oakland through 2023.
The route will operate 11 times weekly, the Port of Oakland said. Frontier is offering introductory fares as low as $29 for tickets purchased by August 27, 2026, for travel September 9 through November 11. The promotional fare requires 21-day advance purchase and applies to select days of the week.
"Frontier's return is another positive step forward in expanding the choices available to Bay area travelers," said Kristi McKenney, Executive Director at the Port of Oakland. Local leaders, including Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee, Congresswoman Lateefah Simon, and Port Board President Stephanie Dominguez Walton, attended a celebratory inaugural event.
Frontier operates one of the youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets in the United States. The airline said it plans to add Starlink high-speed internet, First Class seating, and enhanced loyalty benefits.
