Initiative proponents submitted 184,097 total petition signatures. The Elections Division verified 145,299 valid signatures, exceeding both the overall state threshold of 124,238 signatures and the requirement of valid signatures from each of the state's 35 state senate districts.
The initiative proposes to amend the Colorado Constitution. Statewide initiatives require signatures equal to two percent of registered electors from each state senate district, plus a minimum of 124,238 valid signatures overall.
