The Internal Revenue Service announced a new digitally authenticated tax compliance report available through individual online accounts, allowing taxpayers to securely share their tax information with employers, lenders, and government agencies.
The report includes a digital certificate issued by the IRS that verifies its authenticity and protects taxpayer information. Taxpayers can access and download the report on demand through the IRS Individual Online Account.
"By providing a secure, digitally authenticated report, the IRS is making it easier for taxpayers to access and share important information while protecting privacy and data integrity," said IRS Chief Executive Officer Frank J. Bisignano.
The report is intended for use when applying for jobs, loans, government benefits, or other services requiring tax compliance documentation. Financial institutions, government agencies, and other organizations receiving the report can use the built-in digital certificate to confirm its authenticity.
