Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will host a Group of 20 Finance Ministerial summit in Asheville, North Carolina, from August 29 to September 1. The summit is expected to draw more than 1,000 participants, according to the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Attendees will include finance ministers from around the world, chief executives from major U.S. corporations, and over 200 journalists from dozens of countries. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh is scheduled to speak. Among the business leaders expected to attend are the chief executives of JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, 3M, Eli Lilly, Deere & Co., and Medtronic, along with other Fortune 500 executives.
The summit represents the first of three major U.S.-hosted Group of 20 meetings this year, as the United States holds the 2026 G20 presidency. The State Department will host foreign ministers in Atlanta in October, and the leaders' summit is scheduled for Miami in mid-December.
Bessent will also highlight federal recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene, which affected western North Carolina in 2024.
