A man was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after stabbing two employees at a Burger King restaurant in Panama City Beach on August 13.
Shaquiel Sheldon Williams, a Jamaica national, became involved in an argument with restaurant employees after he refused to pay for his food. When employees attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation, Williams stabbed two of them before fleeing on foot. Police arrested him the same day.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Williams faces two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, a federal immigration detainer was lodged with the Bay County Jail.
According to immigration records, Williams entered the United States lawfully in December 2023 but remained in the country illegally after overstaying his authorized period in January 2024.
