The Fairfield Police Department's Police Transparency and Crime Analysis System has been selected as a 2026 Single Process Distinguished System by the Geospatial Professional Network's Exemplary Systems in Geospatial Awards Committee.
The GIS-powered platform serves two functions: internally, it provides department personnel with interactive dashboards, maps, weekly crime reviews, and analytical tools focused on crime trends, service calls, traffic incidents, and other public safety information. Externally, it provides residents with a public data hub to view crimes, traffic collisions, and case information.
The project was a collaborative effort involving Crime Analyst Ashly Settles; GIS team members Jorge Goicochea, Jasmin Acuna, Cambiz Nojoomi, and Nate Murphy; and Steph Bunch and Shawn Smith, who supported the award submission. The project also reflected collaboration across city staff and Geographic Technologies Group, the city's GIS consulting partner.
Police Chief Dan Marshall said the system helps officers make informed decisions. "This system gives our personnel practical information to support daily operations and informed decision-making," he said.
