Governor Bob Ferguson has appointed David Troutt to the Leadership Council of the Puget Sound Partnership, the governing body of the state agency leading regional efforts to restore Puget Sound. Troutt has served as the Nisqually Indian Tribe's Director of Natural Resources since 1987.
The Puget Sound Partnership works with government agencies, Tribes, scientists, businesses, and nonprofits to advance recovery of the sound. The Leadership Council comprises seven members appointed by the Governor to four-year terms.
Troutt previously chaired the Washington State Salmon Recovery Funding Board and currently chairs the Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Council. He has served as chair of the Nisqually River Council since 2006 and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington School of Fisheries.
"I have been connected to the Puget Sound Partnership at numerous levels since its inception," Troutt said. "I am honored to join the Leadership Council and help the Agency fulfill its promise of restoring Puget Sound."
