TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Terry Reid-Paul and Derek “Patrick” Rooney and the reappointment of Dr. William Kirsh and Dr. Monica Mortensen to the Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
Terry Reid-Paul
Reid-Paul is the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at Keiser University. Active in her community, she is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and was the recipient of the Mallinckrodt Award of Excellence for Outstanding Leadership Performance in 2007. Reid-Paul earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and her master’s degree in business administration and health care management from the University of Phoenix.
Derek “Patrick” Rooney
Rooney is a Shareholder at GrayRobinson, P.A. Active in his community, he currently serves as the President of the Charlotte County Economic Development Partnership, Chair of the Punta Gorda Utility Advisory Board, and Treasurer of the Tiger Bay Club of Southwest Florida. Rooney earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from Florida International University and his juris doctor from American University.
Dr. Monica Mortensen
Dr. Mortensen is a Pediatric Endocrinologist for Nemours Children’s Health. Previously, she served as a Pediatric Endocrinologist for Central Florida Family and Project Health. Dr. Mortensen earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Loyola University and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University.
Dr. William Kirsh
Dr. Kirsh a Practicing Physician at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics and previously served as the Chief Medical Officer of Sentry Data Systems. He is board-certified in family medicine, geriatrics, hospice, and palliative medicine. Dr. Kirsh earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, his master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University, and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Southeastern University.
These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
